Version 1.0.2 Released
January 6, 2008 – 10:09 pmSecurimage 1.0.2 has been officially released. It adds 2 new features into the class. The first is being able to use CAPTCHA codes read from a word list instead of generating random codes. The second includes the ability to create audible CAPTCHA codes as WAV files by combining sound files of each letter and number that appears in the character set.
A few minor modifications have been made to have better error handling and fixed an undefined variable warning.
It is recommended to upgrade to for the most features and stability.

The basic functionality works like a dream - I’ve had no comment spam at all since I started using this.
The new features in the latest version look great, but unfortunately they’re buggy. Words displayed using the word list feature are missing the last character (four characters instead of five are shown), and sound clips generated by the audio feature won’t play in Windows - I get “unrecognized format”.
Can the 4 letters displaying instead of 5 be fixed by changing the script settings to increase the width of the image? Perhaps by default it is not wide enough to contain the full word.
As for the audio files, the sound files have to be downloaded separately and put in the “audio” subdirectory of where Securimage is located. Without them it will not be able to create the wav files properly. Did you download the sound files?
